This Intensive workshop gives the students the opportunity to develop a self-practice in which breath and movement are systematically brought together. This leads students towards improving their concentration, breathing more rhythmically, and developing stronger bodies and minds.
The Focus of "Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga" is breath which draws in energy; the bandhas which contain this energy and direct it throughout the body; the counting of Vinyasa which synchronises the flow of breath and the flow of the movement in systematic order. The combination of these creates a light and dynamic yoga practice.
Lino facilitates this process with his encouragement and his perceptive adjustments. The workshop will be introduced with led classes in accordance with Lino's book Astanga Yoga which was written under the guidance of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. The students will also be taught the scentific counting method in order to gain precision and clarity of mind.
The Yoga space: The yoga shala is on the roof top of Peacock Hotel. It is nestled in the tropical green of coconut palms and provides a totally secluded and safe area for students to strengthen and deepen their practice in a pleasant and peaceful environment.
The workshop is suitable for practioners at all levels (primary, intermediate, advanced A and B)
The classes are conducted on a hard floor which makes it essential for you to bring a rubber yoga mat. We do not provide them.
The Hotel Peacock has a limited number of rooms of various sizes. Prices may be obtained by getting in contact with the hotel.
